What books are on your nightstand?
Um, none, actually. BUT! If we're talking "books right next to my bed," then I have Dynamic Characters by Nancy Kress, Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman (I almost said "Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott." I am AWESOME), and Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. I also have Eragon by Christopher Paolini beckoning.
1. I am addicted to pirates. Pirate literature, pirate movies, pirate stories, pirate songs, all of it. I blame it on the typical southern history and my mom making me Elizabeth Swann's costume for D*con
2. I am addicted to Listography and Library Thing. Every time I get a new book, I head straight to the Library Thing. I'm currently reading Pirates! by Celia Rees, and when I finish, I'm reading Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson or some more of Under the Black Flag. Yes, I know I'm a geek. But at least I'm a geek with a thirst for knowledge.
3. I love my town's downtown scene. Downtown is basically two streets, each street about 7 (big) blocks long, but the restaurants, the venues, and the whole "scene" is to-die-for. It may seem small, but when you move from your area with almost no "scene" to speak of, you really begin to appreciate what you already had.
4. Along with my addictions to learning, pirates, and downtown, I am first and foremost addicted to movies. They are my drug that cause me to wake up in the morning, knowing I have a Super 8 and a notebook full of gloriousness.
Soooo. Here's my new backup blog. Whee!
